اگر لینکدین در روسیه باز نمی‌شود چه کنیم: توضیح صادقانه (از نوامبر ۲۰۱۶ مسدود شده، از نخستین‌ها) و راه پایدارتر برای دسترسی (کلاینت VLESS+Reality)

First, plainly: what happened to LinkedIn in Russia

Many people's real experience is: the LinkedIn website won't open, the app was pulled from the Russian stores long ago, messages won't load. This isn't your phone. In November 2016, Russia's regulator RKN formally blocked LinkedIn under the personal-data-localization law (which requires Russian citizens' personal data to be stored on servers inside Russia) — LinkedIn refused to move its data into Russia and became the first major Western platform blocked wholesale in Russia. So the situation is straightforward: in Russia, LinkedIn no longer connects by default, and you need a channel that bypasses the block to reach the website and app normally.

Why free VPN extensions / proxies often aren't stable enough

Facing a block, many people first install a free VPN browser extension or find a free proxy. It holds up for a while, but in Russia the reality is: first, free extensions / proxies use public shared IP ranges that are easy to block wholesale — hence "works today, gone in a couple of days"; second, a plain proxy just forwards traffic with no handshake camouflage, so under ever-upgrading DPI it's easy to detect and throttle; third, a browser extension only protects the browser, while your LinkedIn mobile app and other apps still run over the real network; fourth, on privacy, a free extension can see all the traffic in your browser — especially sensitive for LinkedIn, which you run under your real name and real network — with a track record of logging / reselling.

A key point: for LinkedIn to be stable, cover the whole device

LinkedIn isn't just the website: there's the mobile app, plus "Sign in with LinkedIn" and share embedded in recruiting / email. For it to be stable overall, the channel should ideally be system-level, dedicated, and not targeted by DPI — covering LinkedIn's website and app, not just one extension in the browser. As a bonus: if you also use Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, or the browser, a system-level solution covers them all at once, with no per-app setup.

The more reliable alternative: a VLESS + Reality client

VLESS is a lean transport protocol, and Reality is its TLS camouflage layer, disguising your traffic as ordinary HTTPS to a real public website. Running VLESS+Reality with a real client (sing-box / v2rayN / Shadowrocket) is system-level: LinkedIn's website and app, Facebook, Instagram, and the browser all go through the tunnel; a dedicated node is more stable and harder to block wholesale; and compared with a free proxy whose entry points are public, it's harder for DPI to auto-fingerprint. The cost is that you need a subscription and a client. To be honest too: no solution guarantees it always works — exit-IP reputation, SNI, and keys still matter; and during a regional blackout no cross-border channel connects, so LinkedIn won't either.

How to access LinkedIn reliably in Russia: concrete steps

  1. Copy your subscription link from the dashboard (prefer VLESS+Reality nodes for the Russia environment).
  2. Install a mature client: Shadowrocket on iOS, sing-box or v2rayN on Android / desktop, and import the subscription URL (don't add single nodes by hand). If the app isn't searchable in the Russian store, get the client through a legitimate channel (a non-Russian Apple ID, APKMirror, etc.).
  3. Update the subscription and run a latency test; prefer nodes with low latency and stability.
  4. Use Rule mode: route Russian banking / government (Gosuslugi) apps direct (they reject foreign IPs), and route the LinkedIn website and app through the tunnel.
  5. Open the LinkedIn website / app and verify sign-in and messages; if it still won't open, switch nodes and test again.

Honest expectations

Follow local law and third-party terms of service; this is a technical tutorial only, security and compliance are the user's responsibility, and we cannot guarantee the long-term availability of third-party services (including LinkedIn).

سؤالات متداول

Is LinkedIn blocked in Russia?
Yes, and early on. In November 2016 RKN formally blocked LinkedIn under the personal-data-localization law, because it refused to move Russian citizens' data onto servers inside Russia — it was the first major Western platform blocked wholesale in Russia. So LinkedIn doesn't connect by default there, the app was pulled from the Russian stores long ago, and you need a cross-border channel that bypasses the block. The more reliable move is a system-level client running VLESS+Reality that routes the whole device (LinkedIn web / app included) through a dedicated tunnel that's hard for DPI to detect.
Can a free VPN extension access LinkedIn long-term?
Often not. Free extensions / proxies use public shared IPs that are easy to block wholesale; a plain proxy has no handshake camouflage, so under upgrading DPI it's easy to detect and throttle — hence "hit or miss"; and an extension only protects the browser, not the LinkedIn mobile app. For long-term stability that also covers the app and other platforms, a system-level VLESS+Reality is more reliable.
Why does the website open but the LinkedIn app won't connect?
Because a browser extension only affects the browser, while the mobile app runs over the real network. For the app to be stable too, the channel must be system-level — covering the whole device's traffic. Running VLESS+Reality with a system-level client sends the website and app all through the same tunnel.
Is it safe to sign in to LinkedIn from a foreign IP?
From a security standpoint it's workable: VLESS+Reality uses a dedicated foreign node that disguises your traffic as ordinary HTTPS. Worth noting: when you first sign in from a new foreign IP, LinkedIn may trigger an extra identity check (email / SMS) — that's its normal risk control, not a sign of a block; just complete the verification.
