YouTube Not Working in China: What to Do
Why YouTube is hard to reach
YouTube is hosted abroad. Default mainland DNS and routing often fail TLS or throttle video. You need a stable tunnel and correct client routing so video CDN domains go through the proxy.
Fix buffering
- Switch to a closer node with low packet loss.
- Avoid running multiple VPN/proxy apps at once.
- Update your subscription after renewals or node changes.

Quick checklist
- Import subscription → update nodes → pick healthy server.
- If only search works, check split rules for googlevideo and gstatic domains.
- Test another browser profile without extensions.
