How to Unblock Every Channel on Your Unblock Tech TV Box with a VPN

The problem
You bought an Unblock Tech (UBox) TV box expecting effortless access to Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, Korean and Japanese channels — but half of them now buffer endlessly, throw a "network error", or simply stopped working after you moved abroad. The box relies on its own shared "unblocking" servers, which get overloaded at peak hours and are increasingly detected and throttled by local ISPs. That is exactly why channels that once played fine now stall on the loading spinner.
The solution
An Unblock Tech box runs Android under the hood, and its streaming apps simply obey whatever network route they are given. Put the box behind a VPN and every request leaves from an IP address in the region you choose — sidestepping ISP throttling and giving the geo-locked apps a clean path into Asia. There are two ways to do this: install a VPN app directly on the box, or tunnel the whole box through a VPN-enabled router. The on-box app is the quickest to try first; the router method covers every device on your TV, survives app updates, and travels with you. Both are covered below.
Method A — Install a VPN app directly on the box
- From the box's home screen, open Settings → Security (or Apps) and turn on Install unknown apps so you can sideload an APK.
- Open the box's built-in browser or an app store such as APKPure/Aptoide, then download our Android/Android TV VPN app (the APK link is on your account page after you sign up).
- Install the app, launch it, and sign in with your subscription details.
- Pick a server that matches your content: Hong Kong or Taiwan for most Chinese-language channels, a mainland-China route for CN-only apps, and Japan or Korea for JP/KR channels. A nearby, low-latency server streams far more smoothly than a distant one.
- Connect and wait for the status to read Connected, then open your IPTV/TV app and re-test a channel that was failing.

Method B — Route the whole box through a VPN router
- Confirm your router supports VPN client mode (WireGuard or OpenVPN). Many stock firmwares do; if yours does not, a small travel router that supports it is an inexpensive fix.
- From your account, download the WireGuard/OpenVPN configuration file for the region you want (e.g. Hong Kong or Taiwan).
- Log in to the router's admin page, add the VPN as a client/WAN connection, import the config file, and connect.
- Connect your Unblock Tech box to that router over Ethernet (best) or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Every request the box makes now exits through the VPN automatically — no app on the box required.
- Test your channels. If one specific app still geo-blocks, switch the router to a server in that app's home country and reconnect.
- Using a travel router means you can carry the whole setup on trips and keep the box "in region" wherever you plug it in.
