How to Use Hiddify on Android: Import Your Subscription and Connect

Before you start

Get your subscription link (from your account page or digital card). Install Hiddify for Android from Google Play or the official channel, and allow it to "add a VPN configuration" on first connect — Hiddify uses the system VPN permission to build a TUN tunnel, so all device traffic routes through your node. Keep the OS reasonably up to date and stay on a working network during install.

Import your subscription: the standard order

  1. Copy your subscription link (the whole URL).
  2. Open Hiddify, tap "+" / "New profile", and choose Add from clipboard or Add from URL; you can also scan the subscription QR code.
  3. After import, tap "Update / refresh subscription" once and wait for the node list to load.
  4. Pick a low-latency, healthy node (or let "Auto-select / speed test" choose the fastest one).
  5. Tap the connect toggle on the main screen; the first time, Android shows a "Connection request / Add VPN configuration" dialog — allow it and the status turns connected.

Routing: whole-device vs per-app / rules

Hiddify defaults to TUN (whole device): every app's traffic goes through the tunnel. If you want banking, government, or ride-hailing apps to go direct (bypassing the node to avoid risk checks), turn on per-app split tunneling in settings and exclude those apps; or use rule mode so domestic domains go direct and foreign ones through the proxy. "The browser works but one app won't" is usually a rule issue or an incompatible app — switch nodes or adjust routing.

Keeping it stable on Android

If you also use an iPhone or desktop, keep the subscription and core settings consistent. Protocol background: What is VLESS Reality; routing concepts: TUN vs system proxy; general Android setup: Android guide.

FAQ

How do I import a subscription in Hiddify?
Copy the subscription link, open Hiddify, tap "+" and choose Add from clipboard/URL (or scan the QR). After import, refresh the subscription, pick a node, and flip the connect toggle (allow the VPN configuration on first use).
Why is a banking app unusable once connected?
Local banking/government apps often run risk checks against foreign exit IPs. Turn on per-app split tunneling to exclude them, or use rule mode so domestic domains go direct, keeping those apps on your local network.
It drops a moment after the screen locks — why?
Usually the OS killing the background app. In the app settings set Hiddify's battery policy to Unrestricted and enable autostart; Xiaomi/Samsung/Huawei especially need this.
Switched nodes but a site still won't open?
First confirm the subscription is current and the client is a recent version; then compare 2-3 nodes by full page-load success, not just latency; check DNS and routing rules if needed.
Can Hiddify share one subscription with v2rayN/Shadowrocket?
Yes — one subscription works across clients; keep core settings consistent. But on a single device keep only one VPN/TUN client active at a time.
