Why DPI kills OpenVPN and WireGuard
OpenVPN and WireGuard are fixed-signature protocols: their handshake structure and byte patterns have a stable, fingerprintable shape on the wire. DPI doesn't need to decrypt anything — once it matches those known signatures it can rule "this is a VPN tunnel" and drop or throttle it. In other words, the problem isn't encryption strength; it's that the traffic "looks like a VPN". Once that's identified, no amount of encryption brings the connection back.
Why VLESS + Reality is more likely to survive the same environment
VLESS is a lean transport protocol; Reality is its TLS camouflage layer. Reality borrows a real public website's TLS handshake (a genuine SNI and certificate path) so automated DPI sees only an ordinary HTTPS request — which is harder to detect and throttle than a fixed-signature VPN. To be honest about it: this is not "unblockable." Exit-IP reputation, keys, SNI choice, and routing still matter, and any config can degrade over time (that's exactly why we rotate nodes). Reality lowers the odds of automated fingerprinting; it does not promise permanent access.
How to restore a stable connection: step by step
- Stop the OpenVPN / WireGuard configs that keep reconnecting — under this DPI they will keep getting cut and only muddy your troubleshooting.
- Copy your subscription URL from the dashboard or digital card and import it into a sing-box class client (mature clients exist for iOS / Android / Windows / macOS).
- Update the subscription and pick a low-latency, healthy VLESS+Reality node; keep your exit region stable.
- If a node slows down or gets interfered with, switch to another of the same kind before troubleshooting — sibling nodes can be affected together.
- Confirm the device clock and time zone are correct to avoid TLS errors that break the handshake.
Stability tips (honest expectations)
- No protocol can guarantee "always works"; Reality's edge is being harder to identify automatically — results still depend on node quality and operations.
- Exit-IP reputation matters: heavily abused shared IPs are throttled or risk-flagged more easily, so clean nodes have a higher success rate.
- Exclude the client from battery optimization so the OS doesn't kill it in the background.
